Draft Authors

In 2014 I discovered the words 'Draft Authors' engraved on a rooftop in Tel Aviv. After an intensive search, I traced down a woman who showed me a journal that documented the meetings of five people who congregated on the rooftop of the building in the summer of 1961 to perform mourning rituals for a friend who had ended his own life. 

 

 The rituals involved written texts in various ways – hence the group called itself the Draft Authors. I decided to make a site-specific installation where I built five altars on the roof, as an homage to their meetings. The altars were made of concrete, polystyrene, pigments, stones and different glues with custom-made lighting. for full text click here
